Virtual Reality Helps Interior Designers
Design is used to portray a message and how that message
is received and understood varies greatly. Design can
invoke an emotion that you may or may not intend.
For example, painting a meeting room with red walls thinking
that it will make people feel productive but it ends up
making people feel anxious.
Now the walls need to be
repainted which waste time and money. If we had used a
virtual reality solution we would've known from the
beginning that red walls don't make people feel
productive. We would've been able to get the wall
color correct the first time. Now granted, a coat of paint
isn't a big deal but what about any other interior design decision
that has lasting effects. Appearance and design
of anything is the first encounter your client will
have.
What kind of emotions do you want to invoke?
